The problem: The low-engine-oil light may illuminate on the dash when the car’s oil level is full, or nearly full, and needs no oil. This is due to the Engine Control Module needing a software update and a new oil-level switch.
Corrective action: Dealers will update the Engine Control Module software and replace the oil-level switch.
Warranty info: This repair is being done under Subaru’s new-car limited warranty or emissions warranty, whichever is applicable.
