The problem: In affected vehicles, a software glitch in the performance system may cause it not to log failures in the system’s memory. If this happens, when techs access the memory to determine where a problem may lie, the fault will not be there for the tech to review, hence diagnosis of the fuel delivery system will be very difficult. Additionally, there may be an inability to delete previous faults, which could lead the tech down a false diagnostic trail.
Corrective action: Dealers will update the fuel delivery system control software.
