Corrective action: Dealers will inspect and diagnose affected cylinders, clean the pistons and replace the piston rings and spark plugs as necessary. On 2011 models only, dealers will also perform a software update to the powertrain control module.
Warranty info: This repair is being done free of charge under a special powertrain warranty extension (eight years/unlimited mileage). This warranty extension doesn’t apply to any vehicle ever declared a total loss or having a branded or similar title under any state’s law.
