Tesla Model 3 Photo Gallery

CARS.COM — We’ve covered the ins and outs of the Tesla Model 3 extensively in a pair of articles already, following our recent opportunity this year to get up close and personal with the new luxury electric car at a showroom near the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. But as exterior styling is one of the very top reasons car buyers report as having influenced their Tesla car purchase decision, we thought you might like to see some photos of what we saw of the rabidly anticipated/slow-to-arrive Model 3.

The Model 3 is the compact sedan in Tesla model’s lineup, smaller and shorter than the Model S sedan and much smaller — though more similar in appearance to — the Model X SUV. The most notable difference between the Model 3 and Model S is the grille, or lack thereof, on the Model 3.

Inside, nearly all of the Tesla Model 3’s functions of the car are controlled via a 15-inch horizontal touchscreen — up to and including the direction of the air vents. A few of the controls that aren’t part of the touchscreen are the window switches and a button that activates the door handle. Interior materials are up to snuff with other competitors in the $35,000 to $50,000 price range.

Unfortunately, production on the car so far has moved slowly. The Tesla company’s Model 3s are just starting to be delivered to non-Tesla employees who own other Tesla cars. Adding your name to Tesla’s waiting list for the Model 3 right now results in a wait time that could exceed a year, and the wait will be longer for those interested in more affordable production versions, as fully optioned vehicles are being built first.
