Nissan Titan Offers Incentives Ahead of Imminent Demise

The Nissan Titan half-ton pickup truck and its sorta-heavy-duty-but-not-really Titan XD counterpart have fought an uphill battle since the former debuted for 2004 and the latter for 2016. Entering a class that includes some of the most popular vehicles sold in the U.S., the automaker tried to offer an offbeat alternative to the might of the Detroit Three and Toyota’s Tundra. That fight is all but over now, as Nissan will reportedly end production for the truck following the 2024 model year to make way at its Canton, Miss., plant for new electric vehicles. But before the truck exits the stage, Nissan is offering an enticing incentive for shoppers.

The Titan’s departure is a pity for brand-agnostic truck buyers looking for something that can carry payload and tow. The latest generation of Titan that debuted for the 2020 model year is a truck we found a lot to like about inside and out. A 400-horsepower, 5.6-liter V-8 good for 413 pounds-feet of torque on premium fuel was a significant boost over the previous iteration, and that engine coupled with a new nine-speed automatic transmission meant the ride was both more powerful and smoother. Fit, finish and materials quality were an improvement over the old generation. The truck nameplate also was the first to receive Nissan’s latest multimedia system, and it received wireless Apple CarPlay in the Pro-4X and Platinum Reserve trims for 2023. Though it may not boast the seemingly infinite customization options or packages of a Ford F-150 and doesn’t have the luxury interior of a Ram 1500 even in its top Platinum Reserve trim, the Titan still provides an interesting alternative to the bigger names.

If that sounds appealing to you as you shop into Labor Day weekend, now may be a good time to consider buying. Now through Sept. 5, Nissan is offering 0% financing for up to 60 months on the 2023 Titan and Titan XD for current Nissan or Infiniti owners or lessees. If you finance through Nissan, there’s an additional $1,500 cash-back savings also available, and further cash back can be found on specific trims and with certain packages in the regions we surveyed.

Aside from the aforementioned monitions, it’s worth noting the offers aren’t available on the Titans’ respective base S trims in the regions we surveyed. The 0% rate also doesn’t apply to the 2024 model — or not yet, anyway. The ‘24 Titan only recently went on sale, and Cars.com inventory showed none were yet available as of this writing. That’s compared with roughly 2,700 model-year ‘23 Titans and Titan XDs.

We followed our usual methodology for finding monthly incentives, so our numbers are current as of publication for the markets we survey (generally Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles and New York), and they reflect advertised customer discounts, not unadvertised factory-to-dealer cash. Discount financing typically requires qualifying credit, and Nissan may change the deals before Sept. 5. As ever: Caveat emptor, and always check with your dealer for specifics.
