Packed with more standard features and tech than ever — including standard all-wheel drive and a 30-inch screen combining the digital gauge cluster and infotainment display — the 2024 Buick Envision is freshly redesigned outside and in. With sales starting now, let’s take a look at what makes Buick’s compact SUV so attractive.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

The Envision’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine carries over unchanged for the 2024 model year. Generating 228 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque, it’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. What is changed for 2024 is where that power is sent: All-wheel drive is now standard. So, while Buick is charging more for the 2024 Envision than it did for the 2023 model, pricing is comparable to that of AWD-equipped 2023 Envisions. EPA fuel-economy ratings are not yet available for the 2024 Envision, but they’re likely to stand firm at the AWD 2023 model’s figures of 22/29/25 mpg city/highway/combined.

Pricing

Full pricing is as follows (all prices include $1,395 destination):

  • Preferred: $37,295
  • Sport Touring: $39,795
  • Avenir: $48,395

Trim Levels and Safety Features

Buick says the 2024 Envision includes more standard active-safety and driver-assist features than any vehicle it has ever built. Standard safety systems include forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning with steering assist, lane departure warning and steering assist, and rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking. Also included on all 2024 Envisions are GM’s Safety Alert Seat, which vibrates individual sides of the driver-seat bottom cushion to alert them of the direction of potential threats. Other standard equipment includes a head-up display, 360-degree camera system, traffic-sign recognition, following-distance indicator and GM’s Teen Driver system, which allows parents to set alerts and limits for various systems while a specific key fob is being used.

In addition to that, the entry-level Preferred trim includes 18-inch wheels, keyless entry and start, and LED lighting front and rear that features adaptive headlights that turn with the steering wheel and automatically turn on or off. Inside are synthetic leather seating, automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat and ambient lighting. The standard 30-inch display can be customized with various styles and widgets and runs Google Built-In, which includes Google Maps, voice controls and a variety of downloadable apps. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and smartphone charging are all wireless, and a nine-speaker Bose audio system is standard.

The Sport Touring trim is largely an appearance package, featuring dark-gray 20-inch wheels and blacked-out exterior details including the window surrounds, lower-body and grille trim, roof rails and side mirrors. It also adds leather seating, aluminum pedals and a power-adjustable passenger seat.

The range-topping Avenir rides on metallic-silver 20-inch wheels and adaptive dampers. It also features a panoramic power moonroof and a hands-free power liftgate. Occupants are treated to dual-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, a massaging driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, heated outboard rear seats and three years of complimentary OnStar Premium, a $50-per-month suite of services including roadside assistance and remote vehicle monitoring and control through a phone app.
