2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR Review: Photo Gallery

CARS.COM — Sooo … the 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR doesn’t really look all that different from the R model that slots immediately below it. The top trim of the F-Type luxury sports coupe has a great big rear spoiler, giant intakes at the lower front flanks and an enlarged crossbar spanning the mesh grille — all combining for a moderately more aggressive appearance. So why would you pay more than 20 grand more for the SVR over the R?

Welp, after getting in the cockpit of the SVR recently at Roebling Road Raceway outside Savannah, Ga., all we can say is that you’ll just have to mentally justify your $126,945 (including destination) in pure driving pleasure. The SVR’s supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 makes 575 horsepower — a 5 percent bump over that of the R — and hauls it to 60 mph in a reported 3.5 seconds.

Inside, you’ll be treated to a track-ready yet still lush environment featuring heavily bolstered racing seats with integrated head restraints, and soothed by Jaguar’s Lozenge Quilt leather upholstery with contrast stitching along with suedelike trim throughout.
We know it’s tough, but trust us — you’ll be OK. In the meantime, feel sorry for yourself with the photo gallery above.
