Ram Announces 10-Year, 100,000-Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty

The Hemi is back, and Ram wants its customers to know that the resurrected V-8 engine — and the rest of the brand’s V-6s, inline-sixes and heavy-duty diesels — will last. The brand has announced a new 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, the longest such coverage in the pickup truck class.

The new powertrain warranty ups coverage from the company’s current five-year/60,000-mile warranty on gas-powered vehicles and five-year/100,000-mile warranty on diesels.
What’s Covered?
The new coverage applies to all model-year 2026 Rams, including the 1500; heavy-duty 2500 and 3500; commercial 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cab; and ProMaster van. While specialty models are sometimes subject to their own (often shorter) warranty periods, Ram explicitly notes that the coverage also applies to the 1500 RHO and the Power Wagon.
What Ram is calling “America’s Best Full-size Truck Limited Powertrain Warranty” covers the engine, transmission, transfer case, drive shafts, differentials and axles. The coverage applies until whichever milestone is surpassed first — either 10 years or 100,000 miles. It also does not apply to anyone but the original owner or lessee. Individuals and businesses qualify for the warranty, but fleet buyers do not. Ram also states that electric vehicles — of which it currently sells zero — do not qualify for the warranty.
Ram says this coverage “confirms a commitment to quality as the industry’s loan periods extend beyond current truck warranty limits.” Brand CEO Tim Kuniskis notes that almost 80% of Ram buyers opt for loans exceeding five years.

How Does Ram’s Powertrain Warranty Compare?
Elsewhere among Ram’s competitive set, the Chevrolet’s Silverado 1500, 2500HD and 3500HD, Ford’s F-150 and Super Duty, and the Toyota Tundra are all covered by a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. In a class where one-upmanship usually takes the form of small advantages in engine output, payload ratings and towing capacities, Ram’s new powertrain warranty gives the brand a decided edge over its competition.
